Understanding

To understand is a perfect fit.
A puzzle piece
that finds its place.
It settles.
Understanding is something that begins to make sense
when, perhaps before, there seemed to be none.
It is a sigh of relief.
A step completed.
But there is something beyond understanding:
peace, as suggested in Philippians 4:7:
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Understanding comforts.
But it is peace that fills.
With a sense of wholeness.
The stillness of the soul.
